Citroen synergie 2.0i w reg

Post by bgdobbie »

hi all. hope someone can help. my clutch pedal every now and again when pressed bangs down to the floor as if the cable has snapped, but when lifting foot off pedal the pedal comes back up and works as normal. this occurs quite often and is really annoying. when pressing the clutch pedal it feels really heavy as well. i have been told this requires a new clutch but just want to be sure. can anyone help with this before parting with the cash.

thanks

Presuming its an auto adjuster, sounds like it has adjusted as far as it can.
In this case its a clutch sooner rather than later.

Have these got a hydraulically operated clutch?

From the symptoms it looks very similar to what might happen if there was a problem with leaky seals on either the master or slave cylinder.
