C6 - The adventure continues........in blue

Post by Trainman »

Okay, this should be fun, never done this before, but, hey ho. Bought the car a month ago, after years of wanting one, a 2.7 V6 Exclusive. There were a couple of issues and debates with the dealer. mainly over the lack of mats, and yes they are expensive £98 a set plus the dreaded VAT. from a different dealer, it does pay to shop about, the original dealer wanted £400.

after a quick trip home I decided to go for a run, filled the tank and off I trotted, ended up in York and then back to Preston with a very respectable 32.6 to the gallon.

Day after, I discovered there was water in the OSF indicator lens, took me an hour to figure out how this comes off, after emptying it, and removing an air cover off the back of the lens, refitted and so far so good.

Telephone was annoying me, keep having to take the SIM out and put it in the car, so got round that by getting a Pay As You Go SIM and diverting my phone.

I've HRH that I want to keep this one as a modern classic.... and that her's will have to be kept on the drive, so that I can put the C6 in the garage, you can ......of course imagine the response that recieved....

I rather lust after a C6 too.

Passed up on going to see one as it was blue then later could have kicked myself when I found it was the very regal dark blue, almost black :(
I had presumed the nasty powder blue that they use, not at all suited to a C6.

So, where are the photo's?

I was taken for a ride in a 2.7 V6 twin turbo diesel C6 a couple of months back a couple of hours after being chauffeured around in a DS Pallas 8)

The C6 was an amazing car to be in as a passenger :D Loves bumps, especially the small ones and corners I imagine getting on almost like an Activa.

When prices have dropped and I have my large driveway/garage  it will be parked next to the XM

Is "Bluetooth" not built into the car, seems very strange if they've left that out on what is supposedly a technology led car. I'd fit a Parrot kit if that is the case.

I love the C6, possibly my favourite car at the moment! 8)

Ive had a drive of the 2.7HDi, such a nice car, very smooth and loved the head-up display. Rear suspension could do with a bit more travel though, otherwise its perfect :D

Look forward to the pictures :)

Chris.

The Bluetooth is dependant on your mobile, mine being a Blackberry and whether the radio is the RT3 which has a SIM slot. The radio they fit in the Lineage only has bluetooth, so something else to bear in mind.

I thought about the Parrot kit, but as you only need the PAYG Sim to recieve calls (which you divert from your own mobile) it's a cheaper option.

There's no option in the menu to disable the sim slot on the RT3?

I'd expect a £1500 radio to be a bit flexible in that regard... I'd also expect it to have Bluetooth.

See if your phone company does a multisim service (same phone number programmed into both sim cards). Or try Orange and Vodafone - I know they've offered the service in the past...

Good old Vodafone don't do a multi-SIM anymore, I've gone through the book and the only reference I can find to the Navidrive/Telephone is to insert the SIM. I'm off to the dealer tomorrow........

I like this one, very 'presidential'. I wonder if M. Sarkosy has one?

Okay, Been to see 'The Man' who tells me that the early C6's (yes mine) 05/07 were fitted with the RT3 unit that doesn't have bluetooth, hence the reason for Multiple SIM. It's only in 2007 that they changed the unit and that, my friends, is the basis of the problem. :?

The only way round this is either to find a phone company who do multiple SIM's or to do as I've already done and use another SIM card.

Oh, well...........................it's nice to know that even the modern Citroens are going to still continue the tradition of sleepless nights, and filling the swear box !!!!
