underneath were?? At the back? At gearbox end? At cam belt end??

Pin point the area, may give us a better idea..

Could be core plug, could be water pump, could be a broken plastic junction pipe, could be split hose...

if its a patch under when your parked , with motor running or not its likely aircon.

if its water and not oil you could confirm this by checking the expansion tank if any water is missing, or smell it
Love my black v6 xant - only one with cream coloured leather too!

hi thanks all for the reply. sorry was vague 1st of all
only happens when engine running, coming front drivers side under the belts.
air con never worked.
coming from main engine water.
after 4 minutes of engine running about 1 litre needed, although 1 litre was not over floor.

From the belts!!

Water pumps are only about £25 uk prices... Cam belts? About 20 quid..

Dooing it? your self or garage...? You know which is cheapest :-)

Ok, for you to look at. You have the radiator, in which the bottom hose goes round passed the Crank Pully, to the REAR of the engine, its just here there s 4 way water outlet, made of plastic! Ive known these to split and collapse, then theres one hose going up to the Car heater, another goes across the back of the engine to the rear of the thermostat house, and the 4th is most of the time blocked off...

So unless a pipe has split, a feel and squeeze with your have might tell you, it can only be comming from the water pump..

Im sure there is a guide on here somewere to dooing them, they are not hard, theres none of this "Verneeir" Cams, or Plastic pullys, and "Set the belt tension just ... this much ", its a very good old school basic engine!! I bit of know how would help though..

hi Dave water pump is way down at the bottom back right of the engine..

get car on ramps and use a decent torch/light and you may be able to see more..

could be a persihed hose which is a lot better than a water pump/ cambelt job...

worth a look.
