underneath were?? At the back? At gearbox end? At cam belt end??
Pin point the area, may give us a better idea..
Could be core plug, could be water pump, could be a broken plastic junction pipe, could be split hose...

Water Pump, which is Cam belt driven! So thats new Cam belt and waterpump...
Water pumps are only about £25 uk prices... Cam belts? About 20 quid..
Dooing it? your self or garage...? You know which is cheapest

Ok, for you to look at. You have the radiator, in which the bottom hose goes round passed the Crank Pully, to the REAR of the engine, its just here there s 4 way water outlet, made of plastic! Ive known these to split and collapse, then theres one hose going up to the Car heater, another goes across the back of the engine to the rear of the thermostat house, and the 4th is most of the time blocked off...
So unless a pipe has split, a feel and squeeze with your have might tell you, it can only be comming from the water pump..
Im sure there is a guide on here somewere to dooing them, they are not hard, theres none of this "Verneeir" Cams, or Plastic pullys, and "Set the belt tension just ... this much ", its a very good old school basic engine!! I bit of know how would help though..

just had a quick look underneath, just cant see anything, whatever it is, is dropping onto the engine, sorry not very good with names, i think its where a gasket goes. is it called the sump?jgra1 wrote:hi Dave water pump is way down at the bottom back right of the engine..
get car on ramps and use a decent torch/light and you may be able to see more..
could be a persihed hose which is a lot better than a water pump/ cambelt job...
worth a look.
