Xantia V6 24v Front manifold exhaust
Hi Xantia V6 ers...
My Maifold Joining pipe is blowing and getting worse..
Its the pipethat joins the front manifold to the rear...
Ive been on "Online Automotive" and their exhaust system only includes up to the Rear manifold outlet ie: Cat backwards....
Is this pipe a Dealer only?? Or has no one else needed to get one?
Thanks Guys
Paul

Hi Paul,
Is it blowing at the manifold joint or has it got a hole in it somewhere? Normal reason if it is holed is that it has been grounded at some time. Mine has been.
I found mine blowing at the joint after the rebuild and found the clamps need to be tensioned when the engine is hot to take acount of expansion.
If it's the pipe itself, perhaps a welder will do a repair?

Xantia_V6,
Thanks for that link, Ive printed it all out in work
Handy having the citroen Part numbers too, I could go straight in and give them the part number directly.
Jim,
The pipe is blowing in the middle about central, the car been sat for about a year, on grass etc.. Ill have to goto Halfrauds and get a Gas Bottle for the welder, and try a weld, ill also need to do the centre, cat to centre pipe joint, it wont tighten up so Ill zip it up with the welder...
Cheers Guys

To make the car electrically perfect, im also be looking for a PASSENGER mirror which of course being exclusive has the DIPPING on it....
Are the mirrors electrically different to ordinary SX/VSX mirrors??

Of course they are differentcitroenxm wrote: Are the mirrors electrically different to ordinary SX/VSX mirrors??
Mk1 are also slightly different to Mk2.
I posted a few months ago my adventure in putting the motor assembly from a Jag XJ40 into a Mk2 Xantia housing (the Mk1 Xantia would be slightly easier wiring).
Do you have the old wiring that goes to the mirror?

There is no such thing on this earth as an electrically perfect Citroen.....citroenxm wrote:![]()

So is mine! Mine also has a dent here whre it appears to have grounded at some timexantia_v6 wrote:Has anyone found a source for the V6 under-engine exhaust pipe? I just noticed that mine has got thin and has a couple of pinholes on the front bend, just where it gets hit by road spray.
I reckon it should be quite possible for someone handy with a welder to patch it quite adequately....

I'll bet that pipe costs an arm and a leg as well. One day when I'll give the stealer a call and find out.... My guess is that it will cost about two MIGsRichardW wrote:When you find out the price of a new pipe, then it will probably pay you to go and buy that MIG JimCitroJim wrote:

I forgot about this topic I started...
Well, I did weld mine up quite nicely, well, stopped her making a noise.. Still ok now, it was last time I moved her anyway, shes now currently dooing what she does best.. resting, awaiting in the que for work to be done!
Ive got all parts to do, thats 3x ABS sensors, front bumper, rear engine mount, get the passenger dipping mirror on and working etc etc..
