1998 scenic 1.9 td ecu lost keys help.........

hello i have a 1998 scenic 1.9td,i lost the keys so brought some keys and locks of ebay and i have to put th 4 digit code in everytime i start it,however i can get a cheap scenic with a blown engine just wounded if i could just swap over the ecu and reciver and see if it would work also is there a black box etc like on the saxo,s as i just did the same to that car and that works fine.cheers for any help

Hi,subject to the donor car being the same engine and immobiliser system ie infared ,you will need off car the key fob,fusebox which is called a ucbic and the engine management computer,also keep chassis number off donor car just incase of any future problems.

yes its the same car do you know if the fusebox is easy to chane and also when you say engine management computer do you mean ecu cheers

Hi,fusebox is not that bad to change just lower it down and unplug connectors ,the engine computer is also called ecu,hope this helps,sorry about delay in getting back to you.
