Xantia Steering Angle Sensor

Unread post by addo »

Just want to know before I put this on - it's famous on the Forum as a source of fault codes.

It appears the two red O-rings apply friction, to retain alignment. Is simply cleaning the section of steering shaft enough to get a dependable grip, or have people tended towards an adhesion promoter like a small smear of Sikaflex or similar?

Thanks, Adam.

A quick bump in case there have been further ideas on this one! I got snowed under at work and haven't fitted it yet. Tomorrow, maybe.

Thinking hard about a smear of ThreeBond on the steering shaft...

I wouldn't bother really.
Although the fault code appears regularly, I think it may well be triggered if the steering wheel is moved whhile the battery is disconnected, so the ECU gets a suprise when the straight ahead position has changed.
