does an x1 steering colum fit an x2?

hi does anyone happen to know if an x1 steering column fits in an x2 xantia estate please?
it would certainly give me more choice in the scrappy.

After a recent strip of my FIRST X2 car, then Yes BUT!

You WILL need the steering wheel, its attached by a STAR Head Bolt and NOT a Nut, like S1 cars,

The steering wheel NOT Houses the HORN not the Stalk like S1 cars...

Most other plugs are the same for the indicators and wipers, but you'll probably need the S2 Membrane and harness to mix N Match... also I THINK the Airbag harness connection is different...

cheers for that paul, a new column for an X2 is main dealer only and rakes in at £175.

all because the top bearings can't be replaced.

I have a number of steering colums about in the shead, couple of S2 ones too, but looks like Ill keep the S2 colum recently removed for future stakes!

I've not had the dubious pleasure of removing a s2 wheel on a Xantia yet,
what's the dril with this 5 star nut? Does it require the prerequisite Citroen
special tool then? Dammit, why are they trying to 'security lock' the steering
wheel on?

No idea Andrew, they have just changed to a TORX T55 size bolt, rather then a Nut... To the outside edge of the colum it splined for the wheel to fit on, and the centre holed out and threaded to take the torx bolt...

actually being as Ive had this torx bolt out before I'm going to check it to see if it's loosened off before I commit to finding a replacement X2 column.
