C5 Hydraulic pipe repair??

Post by minibusman »

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, and I expect that this topic has been raised more than once, but please excuse me not trawling through 10 years worth of postings to find it!

My C5 has developed a leak in the HP pipe that involves taking the whole car to pieces to replace. The pipe travels the length of the offside, and has gone at an accessible point.

Am I wasting my time trying to repair this, and if not, can someone tell me the best way please??? :(

Hi Minibusman, welcome to the forum :D

I've heard of other C5s having this or similar issues.

Your best bet here, especially as you're not a million miles away from them, is to have a natter with Pleiades. Cick on the blue text for their contact details.

Pleiades are a very long established and respected company based in Cambridgshire that uniquely specialise in all matters related to Citroen Hydraulics. Martin, the owner, posts on this very forum.

They are the most friendly, helpful company on the planet and I'm sure they will be happy to fully advise you in this matter.

Hi Jim,

Thanks very much. As you suggested, Martin came up trumps. I had heard of Pleiades back in the distant past, when I had BXs and a CX, but never had cause to speak to them.
Since a spate of running 'normal' cars, I forgot I had heard of them!
Anyhow, providing I measured the pipe diameter correctly, he has saved me about £4000,000 labour costs. :D

Thanks a million (or 4 million!)
Trevor
