Hello Again.

Post by tim leech »

Howdie guys, been a member on here for over 3 years, but kinda forgot about the site!

Anyway heres some updated pics of my current fleet.

1989 BX 16TRS 43000 miles from new, FSH.
Image[/quote]

1990 BX 16v, 140000 miles, aircon, money pit! (now sold and scrapped)
Image

1985 BX 19GT MK1 53000 miles from new, uber rare (famous and a keeper)
Image

1994 Citroen Xantia 1.8i SX, my dads from new, not for sale

Apologies for the small Xantia pic, that will be resolved soon!

I do have a bit of a BX fetish, having owned over 20 of them over the years but the current 3 are "keepers" as they are all very nice examples.

I am a Xantia lover too (and CX, DS XM etc), with my favourite being the a S1 VSX, I owned an ex Citroen UK 2.0i 8v VSX a few years back but the heater matrix let go and amonst other things so I sold it for peanuts on ebay. I have a 1994 M 1.8i SX which my late father bought new which needs some fettling for the MOT but should be back on the road again soon.

Hi Tim!
Welcome back to the forums :D

Are you perchance the Tim that was at the gate of the National rally last weekend?

I also see in one of those pictures a spotless Xantia owned by another FCFer

I was at the national indeed but was just a spectator, although I was lucky enough to win best BX with the Mk1 GT.

Well I cant resist a needy BX! this little beauty came to me from an ad on BXC, she looked very tatty, had a bent wing and a "hairlip" and hadn't seen a bucket or sponge for about 10 years by the looks of the VERY flat paint but I soon fixed that!

Needs a drivers door panel, ball joint and a couple of small patches but all in all a lovely little car, being a 14 base model, it has NO electrical bits, no power steering etc, not even a rev counter! But the little 1360cc TU engine is so sweet and revvy it goes like a bomb!

Not bad for £50, I was going to do it up and sell it but as a family member needs a cheap runabout this may stay for a while longer! :D

Hi Tim,

Why dont i find good cars for £50 :P It does look clean now.....well done.

I must say that the BX was never my Citroen of choice back in the day but i do appreciate a very clean car as i know how much goes into keeping them that way. Your BX's are awesome 8)

Pity the grey one is a money pit, its looks "mean" :P

Here is a photo i pulled off the net of a BX. i got it as a visual kick in the pants to keep me washing my car...damn its clean

I still dont know why I love the BX so much, I guess its just something thats very much a part of my life from the age of 11 and I feel totally at home and comfortable in one.

They arent that hard to clean as they did paint them well and its a smallish car with lots of flat panels, saying that mine do about 1000 miles each per year and are all covered/garaged so I guess that helps!

Im not sure how ive missed this blog before :?

Really a very nice collection of BXs you have there, particularly like the blue TRS. I had a good look around it at the National CCC event last month, it looked stunning, i think i took quite a few pictures of it too. Its wheel trims are very smart and ive never noticed another UK spec BX with those headlamp washers either, were they an option?

Your S1 was equally as stunning, looked very nice at Weatherby also.

Ive always liked BXs, my parents always had a new one every few years while while i was grown up. The last one my mum bought new was a red estate in TZD spec, really a very nice car, at the time i loved the headphone sockets in the back of it

You certainly have an eye for perfection! :)

Thanks for the kind comments, Ive always been one for clean cars and one day the BX will be on the classic circuit so Im just starting a bit early, most of the ones you see are battered and filthy so its nice to have a few that are tidy and well polished

The headlamp washers are from a swedish car, and are for show really as they arent plummed in, the wheel trims are all new but standard GTi/TZD Turbo ones but they are uber rare now as they always faly off at speed so m ost cars have aftermarket ones instead.

The Mk1 is icredibly rare and was destined to be scrapped in late 2007 as it needed some TLC and has took some fettling to get her show she is now.
