citroen c5 2.0 hdi fuel pump

hi i accidentally filled my diesel up with petrol (fool i know),n iv removed the fuel pump built in to the tank to empty the tank,anyway the tank is empty however i cant get the plastic ring on which screws in and holds the pump in place and was wondering if theres anything obvious im missing,apart from a few brain cells,thanks,andy

They can be fiddily to get back on, smear some grease round the threads & try fitting it without the fuel pump & seal in, if it still wont go on then unfortunitely there is a very good chance the plastic tank is warped, It can happen sometimes & the only soulution is a new tank.

finally got it on again and all seems ok guess im lucky!,thanks for your help,worked a treat,andy
