306 slow starting problem

Post by yorkie »

I have a 98 306 d turbo, cracking car, but i have to leave the ignition on for about 20-30 seconds after the glow plug light goes out, then the car starts! i have replaced all the glow plugs. If i dont do this it just turns over and over, then threatens to flatten the battery!
Am getting a bit miffed by this! Please help!!!

You need to test that power is actually reaching the plugs. You could wire up a 12v bulb if you don't have a multimeter. Chances are the heater circuit is faulty but start with the simple tests first.
