It could be one or more of the relays. There are 1 to 3 of them in the cooling fan surround at the front under a triangular shaped cover. Failing that it may be one of the motors.

I had a cooling fan issue on my Xsara, and it turned out to be a motor that had died.

If you can get the fan blade of the motor then the motor is held in place by 3 10mm bolts with a nut on the back. I used my socket on the back, and the spanner on the front. Just unclip the rad and move it back a bit to get better access, and it should pull free from the electrical connector.

I have a spare fan motor and blade in my shed, which I would be willing to send, if you could cover tha cost of postage. Motor would be free.

The screw that holds the fan blade to the motor is opposite threaded to normal screws, ie it undoes the way anything else does up if you follow. Right handed thread IIRC.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply .
I have found the problem, its the Thermal Fan switch .
I guess I will need to drain some coolant off ?
is it best to undo the bottom hose .
My final question is , which would be the best coolant to buy .
What grade ?
Many thanks
Terry .
