1999 306 td compressing header tank

to anybody who might know.
just fitted a new rad.engine wont start off key but when towed starts.
it is also blowing a lot of water out of expansion tank when take lid off.could this just be air locked or has the head gasket blown.
on the compression side thats why it wont start off key .
any ideas would be appriciated............could timing of slipped a notch

Yeah, i had exactly the same symptoms with my old 205, and it was the head gasket. Bad luck mate.
