xantia newbie

Hello forum,
I hope yau all can help me!
I have just bought a 1994 (m) xantia 2.0i SX
After driving a while,
It sarted to idel pulsing between about 1000 and 2000 revs every 2 secs, ... this is embarrising at the lights. ( i think i intimidate people) [;)]
Also while this is happening and i'm moving it seems to jerk alot when i take my foot of the gas. any idea's??
also both my key clicker thing seem to not work, are the cheap to replace and were from??
Any help would be great.

Plips as they are known are renowned for failing and cost about £70 from your local Citroen Dealer. Of course it may just be the batteries have gone so I would try swapping them first.

My remote central locking has stopped twice. The causes were:
1) A leak had flooded underneath the carpet where the wiring for the remote was, and this had corroded.
2) A second time I merely needed to change the battery.

The pulsing at idle is due to a dirty or worn idle stepper motor. It is loated under the throttle lever under the bonnet. Pop it out and clean it. this should improve matters. it is a very common thing to happen on older 2.0 engines.
A new one is about £100.
