406 diagnostic plug

Does anyone know the pins you short out to read the engine manegment light codes?
On the vectra they are 4 and 6 the engine management light then flashes and you read how many to get the code.[:D]

engine is 2000 cc petrol and year is 1999, month october and is a d9 model
