So either it's got brakes that need attention!

Or driver that does not understand the gear selection diagram on the gear lever, who like the brakes also needs some attention!

I did this last month with a 406 coupe (I kept the wheels above the cliff and very well chocked) :D

I have a 4 foot drop on the farm, and it was ideal to get under and change the oil and radiator..

the problem was, after draining the oil and removing the coolant, I couldn't push the car back to work on the above bits, and I couldnt start it

so, I had to work on the top of the engine on a step ladder :D

Will definately use the cliff again for basic checking and jobs under engine.. much quicker than ramps and jacks etc

jgra could you not have used some tow rope and another of your vehicles to pull it from the cliff??

Near the parents in law is a trailer and cab servicing type place, they live next door and its a home run business and they have literally built up two walls to drive truck cabs and trailers onto for servicing. very wide and always mean to ask them if a car would fit on it as well as would make my life easier and its a very good and cheap idea....

That sound similar to what we have at Finmere, left over from it's days as an air force base.
Very useful for sorting out hydrolics on.
With a bit of luck I'll have Juliet on the road by Saturday night as I'm off to Finmere on Sunday and it will be ideal for fine tuning the roll correctors.

As for the van, the photo was taken in a pub carpark in Luton, so I'd imagine it saved the driver's licence if not maybe their (or someone else's) life.

Reminds me of when I had the opportunity to use a car trailer previously, and it worked very well, as it had an edge at the front end, so you knew when you reached the end.

Placing the vehicle on this with the excellent access by having it overhang the front, and with the open trough, (compared to the flat bed type) underneath made it easy to work on a vehicle, I wish I still had the opportunity to use it, but it looks like the ideas mentioned so far means there is another way to do it, if I can find a suitable place!
