Berlingo engine restricted

Post by fed up »

Hello there! I was wondering if anyone could help solve a problem i seen to be getting with the van. Every now and then the engine management light will appear and it will not rev higher than about 2500rpm. Its a 52 plate 2.0lt hdi. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason why the fault occurs, any suggestions
Thanks

It sounds like the ECU is protecting your engine after perceiving a fault that could cause engine damage and has reverted to a get-you-home mode. First advice would be have the ECU scanned for more information.

I second that.
My HDi did that a couple of times, its defiantly the ECU going into limp home mode, get the fault codes read, take it from there.
