Another radio oddity

Unread post by firstrebel »

I have the 3030RDS radio and I found by accident, and annoyance, that if I hold down the + or - on the steering wheel volume control button that it actually changes the radio channels. I don't think it should as there is another button for that. Tapping the button works OK, increases or decreases the volume, as it should. Nothing in the manual about this.

I imagine that it'll be down to the buttons Bob, try swapping them over with your old steering wheel, bring it into work tomorrow and I'll do it for you.

The steering wheel you gave me did not have the buttons, I used the ones from the old wheel. This car has more gremlins than the movie :P

I wonder if it is the radio as the volume sometimes goes up and down for no reason.

Or a dodgy rotary cable at the steering wheel end?

I think I posted before about a similar problem I saw on a Picasso I took a test drive in. Every time you turned a corner the radio muted...
