Meaning the locking hole for the crank is - Yes Behind the starter!!DickieG wrote:The cam locking tool on an HDi is simply a couple of bolts (M8 IIRC) there's no need to lock the pump as the HDi uses common rail injection, to lock the crankshaft I found it easier to insert a length of suitably bent copper brake pipe from below.
The locking hole location is the same as an XUD its just that on an HDi its far easier to reach it from below.citroenxm wrote:Meaning the locking hole for the crank is - Yes Behind the starter!!DickieG wrote:The cam locking tool on an HDi is simply a couple of bolts (M8 IIRC) there's no need to lock the pump as the HDi uses common rail injection, to lock the crankshaft I found it easier to insert a length of suitably bent copper brake pipe from below.
You CAN ALSO use a 6mm allen key! I can insert that in the XUD eyes closed now with dooing so many, but Im sure the HDi is in the same place. Dont forget a new Belt eccentric tensioner as a matter of course! These new plastic feeble things are not like the XUD's strength, where all cam belt rollers were metal - none of this plastic rubbish - Oh the days!!
