WVO complaints

Post by jgra1 »

Chaps, do any of you running WVO actually get complaints...

My colleague here has said she can tell when I arrive and leave the carpark :D I asked her if it was a problem and she said I stink  (this morning she emailed asking why I hadn't come in, but I had driven in using some horrible VW bora petrol thing)

I asked her if I should throw my 200L brought last weekend and she said 'no'... (I would never have thrown it of course)

she also made the point she is a Vegetarian, for what ever that means..

I personally love the smell, but I guess if I was on Derv, there would be a lot less smell/smoke...

I am not in anyway worried, just curious :) maybe you follow someone who stinks?

I have had collegues pick up on the smell when I have driven in, mind you there are a few of us that run on WVO/SVO.
I stick with SVO myself. I do prefer the smell when running on soya oil as apposed to rapeseed which is too sweet a smell!

Smells a lot nicer than Diesel John :D

Maybe she's on a diet and your car gives her hunger pangs...

I know a car running WVO makes me a bit peckish

Yep i am known to my friends as "Captain Chip Fat" and none of them want to follow me, they all overtake...
The bonus is depending on where the WVO comes from you get a different smell, ie indian chips or chinese!

I get comments too.
Netta, my housemate, gets car sick, and the smell doesn't help.
I even have to get the car up to height before she gets in as the rising turns her stomach.
I think her nightmare car would be a 1.9TD Activa running on veg!
1.9TD+ SX Xantia Estate (Cassy) running on 100% veg
1.9TD SX Xantia Hatchback (Jenny) running on 100% veg for sale
Laguna II 2.0dCi Privilege (Monty)

My mate used to run his Chavalier Diesel on a mixture of petrol and waste engine oil. It had the most noxious exhaust fumes I've ever smelt, it was even worse than a carburetted CVH.

Deal. If she's not good for much, I can always Ebay her...

WVO-fuelled cars are pretty rare here; far too uncommon (yet?) to really put a "nose" on the different odours. I do remember a Swiss builder here running his Landcruiser on a heater fuel blend. You could smell that.

I reckon a good splash of cod liver oil in your tank, might have the local cats a bit quizzical!
