Xantia CD Changer Blaupunkt CDC A05 Info Required
Hi all
I havve been able to aquire a CD Changer for my VSX to go with the 4030 head unit fitted but i dont have any of the leads for it
I have had a look through the forum and the web and managed to get myself really confused
Can anyone give me a pointer into what leads i need
As i understand it the lead from the changer has to go/join/plug into the socket on the head unit that is used for the steering wheel controls
Any help greatly appreciated
Colin

Your car should have a Red rectangular connector with about 6 wires (but space for twice as many) sitting under the drivers seat (perhaps under the carpet). If not there, it should be under the centr console, or maybe they forgot to fit it...
Life would be easier if you could get any blaupunkt changer cable with the 13 pin round connector, then it would just be a matter of splicing the correct wires together.
I can get the connection dtails by measuring my cable, if you need them.

As John mentions on a VSX you will find a red rectangular socket located under the drivers seat, if you can't immediately see it lift up the carpet. You may also find another socket there which is for a telephone kit.

Thanks gentlemen
Have just had a look and all i can find under the drivers seat/carpet apart from the seatbelt pretensioner leads are 1 black rectangular plug and 1 small white plug The black one looks a bit like(ish) that which would go in the back of the radio but think its more likely to be for the heated seats which i dont have

It looks like finding and identifying the connectors is the easy bitYes and no
Its actually the smaller white connector. I just had a look at mine, and the big red connector I remembered is the one on the end of the changer cable and the white connector plugs into it.
Whats the best/correct way of connecting the Changer to the leads .......reckon this could get technical and me and electrics.............
Cheers

No one lead if you have the CDC A05 changer, the Citroën original lead had the square connector at one end and a round Din (?) at the other end. If I get the chance over the BHL weekend I'll have a dig around and see what I can find to help you with this.
