Well, the constant maintenance requirements ( and my mechanical knowledge ) is increasing rapidly.[:(!][:(!]
Picture the scene - travelling at a nice 80mph on the M1, put my foot down to overtake ( Xantia TD ), the car responded by staying exactly where it was, and 'smoking' a little from the back [:I].
Cruised past my normal junction deliberately to go to the services just beyond and check things out - I didn't want to be stuck at the junction with no acceleration !
Stopped the car, plumes of white 'smoke' from the back. Went to have a smell ( as you do ! ), and it smelt a little oily.
Pop the lid, feel the cap - cold - opened it, and the pressure would shame a nuclear blast !
So here comes a gasket [:(!]! Trouble is, I'm away this weekend ( use other car ), so it's going to be off the road for two weeks... never mind, at least I can change a whole host of other bits while I'm at it ( sump gasket, cam belt, leak-off pipes ) and generally have a good tidy up [:)]!
