GSF diesel injectors

Unread post by MikeT »

This is more a passing thought than a needy request but does anyone know anything about the GSF injectors they sell for the xantia?

N18812 FUEL INJECTOR-DIESEL XANTIA 1.9TD 38.80

I got the impression new injectors were expensive, hence the other option of having them cleaned but at that price, it's worth renewing them isn't it?

N18813 FUEL INJECTOR-DIESEL XANTIA 1.9TD + SENSOR 148.00

Okay, so that one is way more expensive but is it possible to seperate the sensor part and fit it to a new injector? Anyone know?

When my first Xantia took a big gulp of rain water, I ended up replacing a couple of injectors at about £40 each (this was about 10 years ago).

The £148 one will be the needle lift sensor (injector 2 I think - I don't know they count from the wrong end so it might be 3)

Are you thinking about removing the sensor from a dead injector 2/3 and fitting it to a normal one? (ie the £38 ones)

As a quick guide to GSF part numbers....

Anything that starts with an N or a T is normally OE standard quality and is generally an older stocked line as the newer part numbers and most alternative quality parts (ie the cheaper range) would be something like this 123PC0380

If you ever want to know anything specific about a part, ie manufacturer or reliability of a part you can give me a bell on 0151 525 1764 and i can check it for you

Sadly Mike, no. The sensor is an integral part of the injector and the upper bodies are different and besides, it's almost always the sensor that dies before the injector itself does.

The sensor bit is pretty delicate if you ever contemplate stripping a sensor injector.

Dead sensor injectors can be used in place of normal injectors.

It's worth having a natter to a diesel specialist about refurbing and recalibrating your injectors Mike.

Vince, do you sell your injectors on an exchange basis?

HDI injectors are expensive and can have have a short life, can be up to £500.00. XUD injectors are as you have found - cheap, and can last almost forever. Pleased You've got an XUD? :D

i would have thought the cheaper injectors you mention are re/con, as before my local LSUK went TIT'S up they used to re/con standerd diesel injectors in house for around that price
