Xantia washer bottle.

My windscreen washer wont operate. It on the 1.9td estate. I have checked that power is there at the feed to the little pump on the bottle.

Assuming that pump has failed can we get a pump from Citroen or is it the whole bottle assembly? Do GSF do any kit? Awkward sod to get into.

If its the little pump it may be cheaper to salvage one from a scrap yard.

I think I'm right in saying the pump has two output spigots on it and one feeds the windscreen washers and the other goes to the tailgate jet. The motor spins one way for the windscreen and the other for the tailgate.

The pipe to the windscreen gas a one-way valve in it under the O/S/F front wing liner. If this valve develops a fault, the pump will spin but no water will reach the screen.

I`ll pull the hoses off and look at it. Even with a blockage would it not make buzzing noise as it tries to pump? Mine is silent. It`s usually the case when I find a Xantia in breakers it is on the ground and no room to get into bottle.
