I spotted that on there the other day, it does look a good one.

The seller seems to have given lots of information about it, it seems to have had a fair amount of work done too.

Check the usual Xm things:
Strut tops: do they look rusty, both under the wheel arch and in the engine bay. If they look crumbly then it will probably need some.
Spheres: Check how it ride, there should be no constant clicking on tickover from the acc sphere, if there is it needs a replacement.
Ride: Check its cutting in and out of sports model, the suspension ECU diodes can fail, leaving it riding in sports all of the time, so it will be harder. However a hard ride can also be caused by spheres low on gass.
Rust: They say there is no serious rust, but check the sills and rear wheel arches in particular.

Put it in high and have a look under the car, make sure there is no LHM leaks.

Then just the usual things, try the clutch see if its about to slip, check for white gunge under the oil cap etc etc.

And S2 2.5 Td strut tops are as rare as hens teeth 2nd hand and bloody expensive at dealer!!!

They use a different size strut to the other cars...however, you could swap the strut and tops together from a good donar...
