Central locking - rear door on Xantia Estate

Another one on central locking but this time the o/s rear door won't lock with the central locking. The door can be locked by pushing the door lock down (part of the door trim).

Do I start by stripping back the door panel trim? Is it likely to be mechanical or electrical? All other doors lock with the ususal emphatic click.

Any tips or pointers gratefully received.

When you go to lock the car, does it lock, or does it immediately self-unlock again?

If not, then the problem is nearly certain to be electrical continuity.

Hi Adam - when I lock the car the door in question doesn't lock or unlock (dpending where we begin from) so I guess this means anelectrical fault?.

So - if anyone has any suggestions please forward to me. I wonder if the wiring may need checking or is there some unit in the door panel?

Any help gratefully received!
