Maxxy, don't suppose you did the decent thing and put the old 1.9TD in the XM?

lol, sorry no i didnt.
the XM ended up like this and that ws the last time i saw it.
Bought her off of Ebay for £250 down in Bournmouth. 70,000 on the clock and a lot of it didnt work was only after the engine for the conversion. XU10 J2TE 2ltr 8v Turbo. Has been a lot of work finding performace parts, but managed to get my hand on these.

Such a shame, at least it wasn't an Activa though!

A very warm welcome to the forum Maxxy.P
I'm just considering this: Killing an Activa for it's engine is an instant life-ban from this forum followed by a visit from the boys who will inflict unspeakable punishments upon you. That's if you'd killed an Activa...
Now, you've gone and killed an XM for its 2.0CT and left the poor XM to die Still, at least it was not an XM V6....
It's criminal all the same and I must have words with my fellow Mods and Admins on this. In the meantime you'd better come up with some pretty convincing arguments why the XM was scrapped and not lovingly restored back to life...
Whilst we debate, may I say what an excellent job you have done on the 306 8) very nice although I confess not quite my cup of tea but I can appreciate it despite that.
What tuning work have you so far done on the engine? Always a subject of interest to those of us who run Activas.
What gearbox are you using on the 306? The one from the XM or the original BE3?

Sorry, most definitely NOT a fan here.
And no, I'm not an old fart either - I love fast cars with turbo's and BIG
engines and like them as they were made by the original manufacturer.
I'll fight to refrain from making defamatory remarks about the altered
MaxPower/Redline/Revs Peugeots (and Citroens among the other usual
suspects) and echo sentiments already voiced by Xac and Tourist.
So some say whatever floats your boat, BUT I don't have to like it - it
doesn't stop me feeling angry and frustrated by the pointlessness of
all the effort/money and untimely demise of a nice car and all the total
BS aerodynamics. Does the car do 200mph plus to actually start needing
such additional bodywork? Is it a perceived improvement in street
credibility and purely posing and a craving for attention? Looking like this
isn't exactly inconspicuous whereas there are far better ways of covering
great speeds/distances whilst NOT drawing attention to yourself!!
To what end is all this worth it? Wiki or Google "Q-car".

I have never seen the point and would much prefer a wolf in sheeps clothing so to speak. In fact, my Vectra was as such and many a time embarrased the local so called Barry Boys. Never ceased to fail. The term 'All show and no go' comes to mind
Waste of money and a perfectly good XM
