Keyless entry problem on scenic II

First post here for me.
We have a problem with the keyless entry on our 53 scenic II.
Its a funny one really. The remote central locking works just fine.
The opening sensors on the handles are intermittent. Sometimes they work somtimes not. When they don't work its generally one side of the car that goes dead.
At the moment its the passenger side ones that aren't working. Last week it was the drivers side (which for no reason are now working again, but as soon as they started to work again thr passenger side dropped out )
The locking buttons are just about the same at the moment the ones on the drivers side are woking......

Is there some kind of reset that I can do on the central locking to get it to balance?
I could understand if they stopped working and didn't start again (buttons might have failed). But the intermittent nature of this is confusing.

This is a common problem from what I know on all models with handsfree entry. The switches inside the handles corrode on the inner workings. I know, I have taken them apart. I now have replaced the switches on both Megane and Clio models and have had no problems since.
