Hi Malcolm, can you look for a radio harness on SC? That would help clear it up.

My gut feeling - based on Xantia II traits, is that the wires would go into, then out of the main dash harness...

Malcolm,

If you're not talking airbag steering wheel but the ealier type with just the
radio contols I'm currently breaking a first of the line VSX TD which had
the nicer skinny steering wheel and not an airbag in sight.

It's no problem for me to trace the loom from the centre console and
remove it for you although the steering wheel and the wiring on the hub
are already spoken for...

but it do ave an air bag, (no not the missus) and i do/will need the hole lot including the rotary in the steering wheel, unless someone can tell me how to diferentiate between the 5 wires at the loom side of the conector plug just after the steering wheel, as i think there uis 3 brown and 2 green,

the prob i have is on dismatling this the plug brocke up, i tried soldering the wires one at a time, but some of the switch functions do not work now

Just so I'm totally clear what you're after Malcolm; is this the wiring from
the radio to the multi plugs where the steering column meets up or from
that point onto the steering wheel? I seem to recall someone else here
always seems to be after the steering wheel sliding contacts, Toby HDi?

Andrew
what i am after is the hole wireing from and including the rotary ribon cable at the top of the steering columb, which also has a length of ribon cable going into the steering wheel and plugs onto the small circuit board before going onto the wheel switches, then all the way to the radio if possible, or even a diagrham showing which wires are which were they plug together under the ignition switch

Malcolm,

I've just managed to knacker by rotation switch and whilst getting one from the scrappie. I just so happened to look at a late Mk1 and it appeared very simialr to my early MK2.

I am wondering if the is a difference between them both.
