What Key

The Remote key on my 406 is playing up, i'm petty sure it's the key as it's pretty battered up and if i keep at it it'll work.
It's the single button type for a 99 S reg, i want to get another one but new ones are too dear and the single button ones are quite rare on ebay, what other key will work?
Can i program a 2 button one or a citroen one to work on it?
