clio (51 reg) - handsfree mobile problem

Hi all,
I have a Clio Expression 1.2 5 door (51 reg - Jan 2002) that is pre-wired for a mobile phone handsfree kit.
After a year I have finally had the kit installed (a Nokia 3330 kit, Renault branded) - after getting it back from the dealer I tested it out...I can hear the caller perfectly, nice volume and clear reception. However, the callers say they hear a buzzing on their side - I have tried this and I can also hear a buzzing noise...I tried switching the radio off (it is muted automatically), thinking it was interference causing the problem...but this didn't help.
Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried this with my wife's phone (Nokia 3310), and it also does the same thing...
The other problem is that there don't seem to be many Clios that have been pre-wired (you can tell by the extended base plate on the radio aerial), so it is quite hard to find out info on this.
Any help would be most appreciated as I would like to be able to use this handsfree kit, since I have paid for it!! (£76 for installation, £100 something on the purchase price to have the car pre-wired, plus £100 something for the actual kit itself)...

sounds like you might have got a dodgy unit,should be under some sort of warranty
