You only need the thermistor, which is around £12, as long as your mate can fit it for you.

I'll try and get some more info for you but it is quite simple, the hardest part is getting the glass out intact. There are only two wires to solder.

A decent auto electrician should be able to do it in around twenty minutes. See if you can get a personal recommendation for one who operates in your area.

The temperature sender can be changed. You'll need to remove the mirror which has a spring ring holding it in place. Reach it from the outside bottom corner.

This question comes up fairly frequently.
Somewhere I have seen a very thorough and accurate description of a successfull repair. Can't remember where though.

Those two demonstrate how simple it is. You will need to fix it as it will affect your climate control/aircon.

hi steve
i have read the the threads on how to change the the thermistor and if my hands wernt knackered i would do it myself but when you are reliant on friends the last thing you want to do is upset them so my mate wants to change the passenger side wing mirror then im afraid its going to be the wing mirror
thanks again for your help
ron

I appreciate your problem there oxana. It's a shame he wants to make a mountain out of a molehill but if that's the way it is I guess you just have to live with it.

I had hoped that one of the guys with a "Service Citroen" acount might spot this and help - still might of course.

Why not ring a different main dealer with your VIN and get a quote from them, rather than endure humiliation at your local ignorant pigs hangout? Some of them are both human and helpful.

I haven't had more than fleeting contact with mine - Town Centre Citroen in Sunderland, but was very well treated when I was there and others have reported similar to completely outstanding helpfulness from them.
They may in fact fit a new sensor for a reasonable sum that would be far short of the cost of the replacement mirror.

Where are you - some of the members may be able to recommend a better dealer or specialist.

Alternatively you might be lucky at an independant supplier, like GSF, EuroCarParts or the other one, damned if I can remember the name and the link doesn't appear to be on this computer - I'll be back... :D
