Hi,
I feel compelled to thank all of the contributors to the forum regarding Xantia ABS systems. Following the various instructions I was able to diagnose the problem and fix it with no problems at all. The biggest shock was the Citroen Main Stealers price of £121 for a nearside front sensor.
Thanks to all.

If memory serves, GSF sell them for about £86.
The front ones are reasonably easy to remove from a scrapped Xantia at the junkyard.
Test them before you remove them with a multimeter.
A constant resistance of 1100Ohms generally means it's a good'un.
