citroen xsara pcd measurements

Post by alwoowar »

I have a citroen xsara 2.0hdi,am looking to fit with the alloys from my old car which was a mondeo estate. Any idea if it will be a straight swap or what? What is the PCD measurement for the xsara please anyone? Thanks!

It looks like a general wheel fitment for many Citroen models
- guess it will depend on the donor car wheel fitment:

It may help determine matters if you use this too:

PCD 108mm - same as Ford but different centre dia (spigot). Remember it is the spigot in th middle that is intended to support the weight of the car not the bolts, they are there to stop it falling off.

Rory
this dia is always exactly 65.1mm on Citroens.

How does it work with the wheels with no hole (must confess I haven't had mine off and never bothered to look - too dark now is my excuse :P

There's a machined blind hole.

p.s. You know you want to go out now and take one off to look. :P

From an engineering POV, the studs - even in a lug-centric arrangement - don't work in shear. They apply a clamping force to hold the wheel perfectly against the hub's mounting flange. It's why even and accurate torquing is so relevant.

Cheers, Adam.

That is where you would be completely wrong :D
I have just finished my dinner, have two laptops on the go, one that I'm fixing and there is a time constraint on it, got Milica Ilic *on the stereo and I ain't moving from here :!:

*As an Ozzie you will no doubt recognise the name, even if she is technically Serbian.

How on earth could I misread that to say you had Milic Ilic on your lap?

Although as an Aussie (and reformed luthier) I have to barrack preferentially for Slava Grigoryan... :P

Back on topic, I do wonder why they never used a snap-in centre cap like most manufacturers. At $15/each, wheel balances cost me 25% more from their being "smart".

You're lucky you are not in England. I have to pay £10 per wheel and have to search for someone to do it. How they justify doubling the price just to change the machine centre is beyond me.

Had mine done at ATS. Despite expectations they seemed to be quite competent and I don't think there were any additional charges.

I'll see your Slava Grigorian and raise you a Xuefei Yang
She is my absolute favourit. Not having your talents as a luthier I may well be talking out of my bum but she seems to have the technical ability combined with the feeling for what she is playing.

Hirsty

A couple of years ago Kw!k F!t on Balby Road in Doncaster did mine for the same price as a balance on an "ordinary" wheel- the bloke complained about having to do it but did a good job none the less.
