Cuts out the air conditioning, just uses the blower and heater so won't cool below the ambient temperature.

It's a good idea to hit the eco button a few minutes before you turn the engine off, dries the condensor out and keeps it fresh smelling, also keeps the pollen filter dry.

You will indeed have aircon.

My VW Golf confused me for a while with a 'ECON' button, which stands for Economy, well its lit up the A/C is switched off, thus using less fuel, thus Economy.

When the A/C is in operation, there should not be a light on as its no longer in Economy, thus no light.

The large centre button (horizontal ovoid) has "Auto" on it and defeats all other settings and is lit green when on.

Aircon is automatic.

Below that are four smaller oval buttons arrange almost vertically but the top end tilted inwards toward the "Auto" button.
These are, left to right, recirculate (lights orange). Defrost, and Eco.

If your controls are the same then you have aircon.
You wouldn't need the Eco button otherwise.

I think every C5 has air con, even very early base Lx models. Lx models have manual air con, Facelifted LX models have automatic air con.

All other C5s have climate control - auto aircon, facelift VTR + Exclusive models have dual zone climate so you can set different temps for you and your passenger.

My 2000 SX has dual zone climate control/aircon.
