renault laguna re demister help

hi all 1 st post please be gentle

guys am after some advice and help please. my rear demister seems to not want to demist the rear window. on most cars when the demister is on you can see the tell tale lines appear across the rear screen....on mine you don't

now at the front when i press the button for the demister

the button lights up
i hear a click coming from some where behind the fuse box

at the rear i have checked the continuity and there is a complete circuit
if i run a lamp tester over the heater elements they light up too so no broken traces.
the junction block in the boot i have left that connected BUT i have also spliced into the wire that leads into and out of the block for the de mister to form a direct link to eliminate a loose connection in the block

still it refuses to demist or it is the slowest weakest demister ever made.

anyone any other ideas of what i can check

Have you checked the earthing point? - If there is a voltage present on all your test points I would suspect a high resistance somewhere impeding the current and a bad earth is usually the prime suspect.

would you be on about the earth wire that is in the boot lid next to the live wire for the demister or another more general earth ?

Certainly that one first but also the battery negative leads.

ok will give that a go next time i'm off work, i work 7 to 7 so its dark when i get home will look friday when i'm off

hi i have the same problem on my 03 plate laguna estate
im trying to locate the wires in the boot for the demister but in vain which junction block is it which earth are u talking about .and can u tell me how i can find the wires that actualy conect to the rear screen lines(heater elements) on the side window i can see the born that is conected to the antena amp but nothing on the main one .and the button lights up and i can hear the relay click.the lines have are not broken i did test them
can you help me out please
