Just bought a 1997 Citroen Xantia SX TD 1905 cc turbo manual and have found the heater and the rear window heater does not always work, which leaves me with a real problem in the mornings. Sometimes I have to switch the car off and then restart to get them to go. They seem to be linked - is this right?
Does anyone know of a good garage I can go to for servicing etc, in the East Kent area/ Dover Folkestone/ Canterbury?

Its a common problem for the Series 1 Xantias as the power for the blower and heated rear window goes through the ignition switch which is a bit of a silly design due to the fairly high currents involved
The problem stems from the ignition switch burning out, we have an entire thread dedicated to this here -
