espace remote control radio please help

hi member new member here so be gentle,
ive recently bought a 2000 espace 2litre petrol,not sure of model,
my questions are.
my battery was flat with the cold weather so ive bought a new one,but my radio doesnt work,i have the built in radio with pioneer disc changer in the boot and the renault/pioneer remote control,the lights wernt coming on the remote so i put new batterys in and sorted the remote out but still no radio comes on,on the dash it just says off,anyone any ideas please?
also my central locking off the car doesnt work,the light comes on when i press the key but nothing,all suggestions welcome as mrs doing me head in listening to her and not radio and also am having to leave the car unlocked.please please please help

Hi. If you changed or even just disconnected the car battery you will need to re-enter the radio code. The seller should be able to give it to you. Provided it is an original fitted radio the first selling garage will also have kept a record. Have a look through any car docs passed over to you as not many people rely on their memory and usually jot it down somewhere. However you should have been able to change the battery without affecting the central locking, so can't help you there except to ask if you live within the close proximity of a mobile phone wireless mast or other strong disruptive signal...Ron

Hi again. I think if you read the other post on this board titled 1998 Megane Scenic plip key problem you will find the solution to your central locking problem...Ron

You don't need to leave the car unlocked, use the button on the dash to lock all the doors, then the key to lock the driver's door.
