Xantia parcel shelf has come away from its home

I've been lazy about asking about this, because we don't use the boot a lot... but when we do it's a pain in the derriere!

What appears to have happened is that the cord that holds the shelf up has come away from its various 'locating' parts. Difficult to explain really. Small plastic parts that don't seem to stay in place.

Is this a common occurence?
What is the recommended course of action, please?

It's so common that Citroen sell a repair kit and I don't think it's particularly expensive.

Where do you guys go for spares like this?

I have the glowplugs from GSF, but I don't suppose they do bits for the parcel shelf!

Do you use a main dealer?

I see vans around that advertise foreign car parts - any part supplied... worth a go?

Chassis and/or interior parts are main dealer parts only - in most cases.
Parts are too special to get a decent turnover at discount parts sellers.

95.669.055 is the repair kit for series 1 (> june'98 ) (approx £11.5 exvat )
8794.JH is the repair kit for series 2 (june'98 >) (approx £7 exvat)

I'm not sure if the kit covers both sides of the parcel shelf. Take a look once you have got the kit in hand.
