alternative xsara fuel cap

Recently bought an X reg 1.9D (first registered September 20000) and would like to replace the fuel cap, which usually needs two or three attempts to lock after filling up. Told by another Xsara owner its a usual problem.. so perhaps replies to this post will bring cries of "they all do that" . Any one found a replacement that locks back into place at the first attempt ? Please tell....

(This is my sixth Citroen by the way.... after a 2CV, two BXs, and two Xantias ....so I was not prepared for a fiddly fuel cap..)

I've never had a problem locking mine on a 2002 car, and it appears to be the original (same key fits it as everything else on the car.)

I don't know if the design was changed at all during Xsara production?

cant say i've heard of that either, the fuel cap has a locking device that doesent let you remove the key unless the cap is locked properly, for that to happen the cap has to be pushed home onto the filler neck properly. try pushing the cap in harder & squarely & see if that makes a difference.
