URGENT - Save a good Activa Turbo

Post by Old-Guy »

This post in both the Activa and For Sale areas lacked vital data and there's now only a few days to save this one:

97 R Activa 2.0 TURBO, 155k miles, Silver, cloth seats, A/C, £150

Contact Pat on 07988 347166 or e-mail patrickjohn43@hotmail.com

I've spoken to Pat, who, in addition to the vital fact that it's a 2L turbo also sent me the following info:

"Interior perfect, alloys good with 4 decent tyres, tow bar fitted by me, never used, repeat never used. Car is sound, engine fine, no knocks rattles or rumbles, starts first touch, no smoke etc. Spheres changed 3 years ago by Andrew Brody in N. London. MoT expired in May - probably failed on suspension (STOP warning light is permanently on). Car in Edgware N London.

It's been to Spain and back in the last 2 years, but there's always been something odd about the suspension."

Pat's going back to Spain on Monday (3rd Nov). He loves the car, doesn't want to scrap it, but as he lives in Madrid he can't possibly keep it - re-registering it in Spain isn't a viable option.

SAVE IT before it goes for scrap.

I'd love it but don't have the time, money, or garage for a thirsty toy!

For £150, there must be an Activa enthusiast in the home counties prepared to rescue it?

That's funny, I had been conversing with Pat by email, with a view to buying the car, this or next week.

Emails and phone messages go unanswered.

Pat, if you are out there, get in touch.

Handyman

Pat answered my e-mail yesterday and I talked to him on his mobile less than an hour ago.

I've had correspondence with him too Richard - just thinking in case you didn't
have the time/inclination. I'm not letting it go to scrap!! He hasn't said whether it's a s1 or 2...

I work not far from Edgware and if this is the car I recall seeing a few months ago parked up for a while, the rear suspension was up very high as if a height corrector had failed/linkage broken whereas the front was at normal height. From a distance the condition looked OK, if someone does make contact and wants me to take a look send me a pm.
