306-saxo vtr power steering pump

Does anyone know if the power steering pump off of a 1996 306 Dturbo will fit onto a 1999 saxo VTR??

I have had a few experiences with power steering pumps....& I have used pumps from petrol engined cars on my ZX TD.

Although the pump bodies will more than likely be identical ...the inlet pipe may be different some are bent at a 90 degree angle & some are straight .....this can be removed or rotated as needed quite easily ...its just a push fit & a little heat (not too much) will help.
I believe the pump from the TD will have a smaller pulley than the one from the VTR...however this can be pulled off & the one from your pump pushed on.

You need a puller for this operation...one that pushes on the center shaft & pulls on the outer of the pulley wheel.

If you look, you will see that the center shaft of the pump is threaded & you will need a bolt of the correct dimensions in order to push the pulley back on.

dont all SAXO VTR's have an electric steering pump, the ones i have worked on do, and there are two diferant types, one comes with the resavour all in one unit with pump, the other it is conected by a length of rubber pipe
