Has anyone driven a C4...what do you think??

Post by Nuneatonrob »

I have had the pleasure of driving a C4 for the last 24 hours, courtesy of Citroen....(see my STOP light and High engine temp light flashing post)

I just wanted to say what a awsome car i think it is. It feels really well made, goes well (1.6 petrol) and is very very modern and funky inside and out.

I just wish I could put a deposit down on one. I love it.

It's very well spec'd and handles brilliantly....I am sure it's not to all die hard Citroen fans taste, but i think it's great!.

I took some work colleagues out forr a spin, and all were suitably impressed with it's looks, inside and out.

Any comment on this car, please reply!!

Cheers,

Rob

I did my pass plus (extra driving qualification after passing test) in a C4 1.6 Diesel. I can say that I still feel it has slight Citroen quirks such as the non moving middle of the steering wheel, digital center placed speedo etc. which I liked.
I found it very comfortable and easy to drive (considering I hadn't been driving for long) compared to a Golf 1.9TDI I was driving around the time which took some getting used to.

All in all, if I had the money, a C4 would be in my fleet of cars :D

It would have been nice if it had Hydractive suspension though

My sister has a 5 door in black and was one of the first to buy one before
they became a more regular sight on the roads and it replaced her Xm!!
She loved the Xm and found the suspension ride of the newcomer very firm
in comparison but her work dictated that a new car for massive miles was
bought giving both optimum emissions as well as very good mpg; to be fair
in the later stages of her ownership the XM was hardly fuel efficient!

Mind, not many other cars could match the emissions and the economy from
the 1.6 HDi 16v is in the high 50's early 60's and it still goes very well!
Caroline has had the car over 2 years or so now and only ever had a
hiccup with a warning light and a kind of limpho,e mode which was
efficiently sorted by the dealer FOC!! In fact it may even be part of a
voluntary recall by Citroen, though this is conjecture on our part really!

I've only been in it a handful of times and must say I'm impressed with the
evident build quality, style, and thoughtful design touches and think Citroen
have done very well with the C4 though the ride for a driver brought up with
GS, GSA, 2CV, CX, XM and Xantiae the firmness of the suspension is a big
disappointment being quite thrashy.

All in all, a creditable and attractive car and well worth keeping an eye out
for in the second hand market as values lower due to the age and mileage.
