c5 tick over struggling

c5 tick over struggling

hi
i have a c5 3ltr 2003 the problem is, it sounds as if it is struggling when it is ticking over the rev counter is showing 5 to 6hundred
also sometimes when i put my foot down it seems to cut out for a second and then restarts i have had the plugs and coils changed but still the same
any help would be most appreciated

it sounds like either the stepper motor is on its way out, or there is a vaccum leak at one of the hoses/inlet manifold,

were abouts are you

im not quite sure on a 3lt C5, but it must be on the throtle body somewhere, if you send me the engine type i will look on service citroens site or my disc, that is ment to have a C5 work shop manuale on,

its usualy a small black cylindrical unit about an inch or so in diamiter, and about inch and a half long, held in place by two torqux (star ) screws

or maybe Jim could find it

i would still be enclined to look for vaccum leaks first, you can do this with a can of carb cleaner, with engine running squirt it around veccum hoses and inlet manifold to head joints,

BUT DONT SQUIRT IT NEAR ELECTRICS AND IGNITION HT
