I know us Activa owners have always been annoyed with the UK only having the 2.0i 8v Turbo CT engine , and no V6 or HDI, but looking here..
http://www.kolumbus.fi/~w496119/xw/activav6.htm
It has the V6 Activa as 0-100Kph (which is 60mph) as 8.8 Seconds.
Now Parkers has the 2.0i Turbo as 9.2, and i've seen 8.9 on some places.
Surely the V6 Activa cannot be that slow? If it is i'm no longer that upset at not being able to have one in the UK.

Whatever is written down in tests, trust me that a V6 is significantly quicker than the CT Turbo engine in the real world,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,until you come to a corner that is 150 bhp verses 194 bhp, make your own mind up.
Then there is the sound of the V6, woof

I will second that, after having ridden in Richard's V6 It feels significantly faster and eager than the Turbo CT... Scalded cat describes it best!DickieG wrote:Whatever is written down in tests, trust me that a V6 is significantly quicker than the CT Turbo engine in the real world,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,until you come to a corner that is 150 bhp verses 194 bhp, make your own mind up.

Maybe the footwell mat was fouling the throttle pedal on the test car?

The Activa part of the car doesn't come into it on 0-60 runs.
I would say 194bhp vs. 150hp is a quite a jump, I've never been in a 2.0i CT except in the XM, but I have been in a Xantia 3.0i V6 and it can be a dangerous car in sports mode.
The 2.0iCT is best suited to the activa as it makes good use of the suspension when it is needed, keeping the car level on corners and not slowing down, the low pressure turbo keeps the engine on the boil.
Where as doing the same thing in the V6 in sports mode, you may lose the corner as it changes down from 4th to 3rd (engine braking, lack of grip etc).
Obviously the V6 mated to an activa suspension would need to have a manual box for full use.
Thats what I think anyway.

With higher boost on the XU10J2TE i think the gap must be pretty close on the road, a nice wall of torque to pull you out the corners and no need for high revs.
I'll see hopefully before the end of the year just how much quicker a tweaked one is, i reckon 0-60 in 8 seconds and maybe just touching into the 15 second quarter mile area. Actions speak louder than words

Luckily they thought exactly the same at Citroen, and equipped all the V6 Activas with manual boxes.deian wrote: Obviously the V6 mated to an activa suspension would need to have a manual box for full use.

BTW, the swedish Bilsport magazine tested V6 Activa in 2000, and managed 0-100km/h (0-62mph that is) in 7.65 seconds:
