I have a suspicion Malcolm, theat the CX Forum is run on a server in the owners house so like our databases, it's availability is dependant upon the availability of the internet connection, the server running and the domain name being available. I've been caught out a time or two with domain renewals, not to mention Pipex billing... Their fault, not mine but it still leads to breaks in service.
He may of course be on holday and if the server has crashed it'll be down until it's fixed.

Loss of Broadband
When you lose your broadband (not cable) connection for a while, it's almost always the fault of BT Outreach who own the 'local loop' (i.e. local exchange and everything between there and customers). Broadband is expanding so fast that Outreach are constantly installing new equipment - for which they need to take down part of the local network. I just wish they wouldn't choose 9 a.m. - "Our broadband connection isn't working this morning...."Pipex decided I did not need my Internet connection for a few hours

Re: Loss of Broadband
Yes, I agree they should do it at a time that does not cause problems with their customers !Old-Guy wrote:When you lose your broadband (not cable) connection for a while, it's almost always the fault of BT Outreach who own the 'local loop' (i.e. local exchange and everything between there and customers). Thing is, if they do it during peak hours, it saves them bandwidth costs as it stops people using the internet, also saves them overtime/nightshift pay.
