drivers door lock

Post by briwall »

Hi,
The door lock on my 02 c5 hdi isnt working properly.
The inner handle occaisionally doesnt open the door and I have twice had to open the window to open the door from the outside to get out.
How difficult is it to take off the door panel? and once thats off what do I look for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

if they are the same as pissscasos, it might need a new lock unit, around £36 squid from citroen, the pissscaso one is an all in one sealed unit with the central locking servo biult in

Hi Malcolm,
Thanks for the info, I'll check it out with Citroen to see if it is the same lock unit.
Cheers

The door handle is connected to the lock by means of a long piece of wire.
There is a bend in this wire which sometimes stretches.
What you need to do is remove the door panel and take off the handle.
Unclip the wire from the handle end and shorten the bend in the wire using a vice grip or something similar.
The door panel is easy enough to remove:
Prise out the circular cover at the door handle and remove the bolt.
Prise off the cover on the door pull (armrest) and remove two bolts.
Prise off the cover at the mirror.
Unclip the panel around the edges and push upwards.
Not sure about the switches, I think they stay in the panel!!
I had the same problem and this solved the problem.
