Laguna Key Cards

Unread post by reflex »

Hi All,

I have a 53 plate Laguna and the Lock button is unresponsive on both key cards. The Unlock works fine.

This means I have to lock the car from the inside.

Is this a known problem with the keys?

Does anyone have any suggestions or know prices on how much i would expect to pay to resolve the problem?

The buttons will need resoldered. It's straightforward but tricky as soldering jobs go. I'm not sure where you'd go to find somebody good at soldering but I'd guess it won't be a Renault dealer.

Key card problems are very common.

Obviously the first thing to try is the battery...replace it with a new one.

If a new battery doesn't cure the problem it's probably just a bad solder joint as reblack68 mentioned....the card will have to be cut open to gain access to the insides to fix it.
