ZX Central Locking?

Unread post by Turboselecta »

Is there any danger of a genuine fix for the capricious central locking on my ZX estate?? It does work occasionally, very occasionally- the new batteries in the transmitter seemed to help, briefly. Is it effectively the same as the rev counter, it'll work when it feels like it?
Using the key in the driver's door lock only wakes it up on very rare occasions; use of the transmitter usually only generates muffled noises(!) and the standard indicator flashing behaviour.
As a new clutch is now unavoidable (2 broken cables/clips)- the 'needs doing' list is lengthening. Although functioning central locking isn't quite as vital as a working clutch, it would be rather handy. :(

hi Turboselecta
i have probs ocasionaly with my plip, the fault is the conection to the battery becomes loos every now and then, if i give it a tap it starts to work again,

also you can check if your plip is sending a beem out by pointing it at you phone camera,

saying all that i think your problem might be caused by dry lock mechanisum, so the first thing i would try is give all the lock mechanisums a good soaking in duck oil (contect) or similar from in behind the door trim panles

and who is going to fit your clutch

were in deep south are you,
