Another Xantia vibration

Post by nstarmore »

Hi all, I think this is my first post on here. I've got a a '95 Xantia SX TD in black and very nice it is too. However, there is a very annoying vibration I can't seem to suss out.

I've tried two sets of wheels and had the wheels balanced countless times but it won't go away.

It appears between 58 and 68mph and comes and goes. Its frustrating in that if, for example, I drive at a constant 60mph on the motorway, which I generally do then it comes and goes. It'll be smooth for about a minute then the vibration will gradually start and then it'll fade away again and then come back and so on, etc, etc.

It probably the on;y fault left with the car now, which makes it more noticable really, and its driving me mad, has anyone got any ideas?

I forgot to mention the vibration is through the car, the steering and gearstick are unaffected
